Testing, testing, 1, 2, 3.

I could still use some more pictures for the slideshow. Email them to gkoleski@hotmail.com

Thanks.

I left the 10 year reunion (which was such a different event to try to organize without the help of much internet knowledge) wishing I spoke to so many more people. If anyone knows where Larry Roberts is, please let him know of the reunion plans. I'd love to catch up with him! See you there. Lori

I'm still looking for any and all leads on alumni whereabouts. Even if you think I might already have contact info on someone, send it to me anyway (mmpastorek@sbcglobal.net) so I can cross-reference it with my list. We don't want anyone to miss this way cool reunion!! Thanks - Michelle

Thanks for the phone call the other night, Heather! I'm not sure if I would have found out about the reunion otherwise. I'm looking forward to it, but I can't believe it's been 20 years! I sure don't feel a whole 20 yrs older than I did in high school-although my faulty memory regarding most events in high school probably prove me otherwise. Looking forward to seeing everyone on August 4th!

Hello all.
Wow - 20 years! I'm so happy to have heard from you, but I doubt I'll be able to make it. I live in CA and my family and I are going on a trip to Cabo in mid-August. Another trip w/in the same month would be quite difficult to pull off. However, I would love to hear from anyone/everyone who wants to get in touch w/me. Please email me.

Ok, this seems to be a chick board so I thought it needed a guys touch. Ok, ok, just kidding, but I figure its never too early to get started. Since you cant make it Angie, dont plan anything for July 21, 2012 for the 25th. My restaurants should be pretty well up and running by then so at least we have that part covered. To everyone else, see you on the 4th.

Heather (Felton) Powell

Mon, 25 Jun 2007 19:28:24

Thanks, Steve, for using that ever-politically correct term of "chick." I'm sure all of us ladies will stand in line to buy you a drink...and then pour it over your head ;)

Don't forget to include your email address in your post if you want people to respond. For example, anyone who wants to tell me about the big crush they had on me in high school can contact me at shoobootie@hotmail.com.

Register for the reunion already!!!

Steven Rice

Mon, 25 Jun 2007 21:11:43

Oops, my bad... make sure the drinks that get dumped on me are something I like, that way when they run down my face I get a little taste.

As for crushes... ooooo, I could share about who I liked, but thats not as fun as letting everyone think about it for a bit.

Tue, 26 Jun 2007 08:57:09

Hey all -- the blog was a great idea! I'll add a link to it from my blog when I get a chance.

Lori, you can find Larry's email address if you search on the Wisconsin Bar website (www.wisbar.org), lawyer search. I think he's in Washington, DC. I sent it to the organizers a few weeks ago. For anti-spam purposes, I don't want to post it in the comment here.

I can't wait to see everyone!

Tue, 26 Jun 2007 10:12:55

Just adding my two cents! I'm not sure if I can make the reunion, this is my busy season. I hope I can! It'd be cool to see you all!

Is there any way to access the registry information if I will not be at the event? I would love to know what everyone is up to!

Heather (Felton) Powell

Fri, 29 Jun 2007 08:44:31

We've included a link on the Register page for those who can't attend the reunion, but would like to update everyone. Just click on "what's been going on" and tell us all about it!

Mon, 02 Jul 2007 21:13:23

How exciting! I can't wait to see what everyone has been up to! Is there a way to see what people are answering as they are updating the registry?

Tue, 03 Jul 2007 02:59:14

Hello, Everyone. WOW! I can't believe this is really happening. I'm like Beth...where did the last 20 years go? Unfortunately, I don't know if I will be able to make the reunion, but I would love to see all of you and know how you are doing. Just reading your posts is making me feel all warm inside :-) I will complete the "what's been going on page" as soon as I have a moment. God bless.

Hey Everyone! This is so much fun! I got out my yearbook, dusted it off, and laughed out loud reading what people wrote and seeing how young we look! For those of you who are checking this blog and not posting- PLEASE post!

Lisa Schalig-Winter

Tue, 03 Jul 2007 20:43:23

Clare,
I still look young even though you're an old fart:0) It must be the Alaska air up here. I did have a good laugh when I dusted off the old yearbooks.
Greetings to all!

Its hard to believe that 20 years have gone by,where has the time gone? I live overseas- unfortunately I am not going to be able to make the reunion. I would love to hear from anyone who wants to email me.

Wed, 04 Jul 2007 20:41:46

Hello everyone - In response to the questions regarding how to view the registry info/survey questions classmates are completing .. An alumni booklet will be made available after the reunion. On a different note, PLEASE include your email address when blogging. Many of you have stated that you would like others to email you, but you have to put your email address in your message. Thank much! Look forward to seeing everyone on August 4th!

Thu, 05 Jul 2007 12:38:21

Hello to All,
I've enjoyed reading all the comments - yep 20 years have flown by...I cannot make it the reunion on Aug 4 because we start school that week here in sunny California. I am coming to the RKHS all class Alum Fest on July 22. Anyone interested in going to it (in addition to the reunion of course)? I'd love to hear from you all and see any of you who live in the area on the 22nd.

Can't wait for the 4th! I have been enjoying all the humor flying around this blog! Love it!

Just to let you know, I spoke with my neighbor who played bball with Lisa Lawrence at Wisconsin, she will try and send word to her about the reunion. Lisa is a lawyer in the Milwaukee area last I heard.

Heidi, I like the sound of July 22nd! A nice addition/warm up for August 4th--we will be there!

Thu, 05 Jul 2007 14:56:26

Hello all!
Sorry I didn't leave my email address. I did leave a link to my website though, which has a way to contact me, like Heidi did. Anyway, my email address is angie.fitz@yahoo.com and I do want to hear from everyone!

Michelle - OMG - I've thought about you so many times over the years. How are you? Please write to me.

And Heather - if you must know, I had a MAJOR crush on you - you were fantastic in Cabaret! I still talk about it all the time. I saw the production with Joel Grey in Milwaukee before I left and in April of this year, my husband John and I saw it in Paris at the Folies Bergre(unfortunately it was in French, but still great!).

Ron, where oversees do you live?

I think I heard from Madeline Kelnhofer not too long ago, but I can't remember in what context. I'll see if I can find her contact info. Does anyone know where Larisa Rodionov might be found?
Angie

Hey all,

I've had fun reading all of your comments. I'm looking forward to seeing everybody since I didn't know about the 10 year reunion until after it happened. No biggee!

Hey!!!! This is great! Not sure if I'm attending the reunion yet.

Angie, It's been forever! As far as I know Larissa is in Texas somewhere. If you get in touch first could you let me know?

Last I heard Tom Wolf was working at Potowatomi, if that is any help.

I don't know if I will be coming depends on what's going on. I have an intensive engineering class that I got stuck taking around that time and from the looks of the schedule it looks awfully scary.

Anyway updating people about me I am not as skinny as I use to be, but of course I am working on it. I am a Math teacher in school working for my master. I have 3 boys that are grown and almost grown.

I think that is a really long message so I will stop now

Hello again,
Could someone share more information on the event July 22? Thanks!

Wed, 11 Jul 2007 15:03:07

***ALUMFEST***
Sunday July 22, 2007 is the RKHS all-class picnic/reunion. It is held in the stadium field in back of the school (Clare and Laura, remember the soccer days on the field?). ANYWAY, it runs from 11-4 and is a casual, fun family event. Various clubs host booths selling food/drinks etc. There are tents set up by decade for the alumni. They even have contests to see who has the biggest turn out. It would be great to have a big showing for 1987! You can tour the school with current students and probably check out "Le Petit Theatre", the element table in the chemistry lab that we all memorized and walk up all 8 flights of stairs to Psychology class.
We are coming to the Alumfest (but cannot make the Aug 4 reunion) and hope to see all of you there!

Some of you have indicated that you would complete at least the info only section of the website, if not the registration form to attend the reunion. If you haven't done so yet, please, please, please do! We'd like to have as complete of a class "picture" as possible!

Angie, thank you for being the only person to have had a crush on me ;) I still have fond memories of your family throwing me down your stairs! Geez, I miss the good old days ;) I haven't been kicked out of a place like that in, well gosh, it's been weeks...

Rachel and Shunda

Thu, 12 Jul 2007 20:44:09

We are just hanging out over here looking at all the replies. We will probably come to alumnfest, but not to the reunion. As far as pictures I have some, but we all know digital is in so if I have time I will have to take pictures of the pictures and then email them. We will see.

It has been a lot of fun reading this and looking at the year book! It just can't be 20 years. (Diggelman I'm finally on!) Can't wait to see everyone!

Sat, 14 Jul 2007 22:57:12

I think I am coming...it depends on a couple of things. Seeing some of those names listed though would certainly be well worth it.

Michelle Nashleanas

Mon, 16 Jul 2007 16:38:36

Hi folks,
Kudos to Terri Noyes for finding me after my excessive/extensive time in academia! I can't believe I've never attended a reunion in 20 years.

I'll be in Milwaukee for the reunion - I haven't been in Milwaukee in .. at least 15 years. Any suggestions on hotels that would work well for this party?

I will fly in from Philadelphia on Friday night and will try to find whoever is around and play catch-up in the daytime on the 4th. If you want to call my cell it's 267-259-3731 and yes, now that I have a cochlear implant, I can finally hear basic things like the phone! Yay!

Best,
Michelle

Wed, 18 Jul 2007 13:29:47

Warmest wishes to everyone,
I was at the 10th, and I was so impressed with how awesome the 90s suited everybody. No doubt the last 10 years have been equally as gracious. We're children of the 80s - we're officially vintage now!

I can't be in town for the big day. I am genuinely bummed, especially after reading this blog. I live in Montana - bravo to whoever found me out here.

Laurie, how is your family?! i haven't seen you since your wedding. It warms my heart to read a post from you.

Have fun everyone.

Emily

Wed, 18 Jul 2007 16:59:54

Heather -
I laughed so hard when I read your comment about my family throwing you down the stairs. I have a very vague recollection of that, but it sounds like something they would have done back then. Also, I just heard that you were in CA. I so wish I would have known. Next time you're on the West Coast, you better let me know. I would love to reminisce about your flight down the stairs (and other things of course). There's a ton of relatively recent pictures of me and my family on my myspace page myspace.com/gonzalesang (no comment about the myspace thing), which rather than me sending to you, you can feel free to download. I'll have to look around for some high school candids and will check back in in a few days re where to send them.

Laura Drezek Egelseer

Wed, 18 Jul 2007 18:32:54

Em!! As I read your post I can actually hear your voice! Boy, I miss you!
Haven't heard anyone call me Laurie since, well, yesterday, when I talked to my mom! I love it--only family calls me that anymore--and you rate that high in my book!
So sorry to hear you will not be attending the reunion--I missed the 10th because my boyfriend--now my husband--invited me up north with his family. I think I made the right choice in the end but wish I could have done both.
Wow! Montana! How beautiful. How's that going for you? We lived out in Utah from 2002 to 2005! Only good thing out of that was our son, Jack! :) When we were out there my parents sent me a clip of Libby's (when did she grow up?) engagement announcement. I would love to hear how you all are! If you get on Classmates.com please leave me a note! Or lme533@sbcglobal.net.
K.I.T. (can't tell you how many times I saw this in the yearbooks!)
Laura--or MOMMY!!!!!

Hello everyone. It was great reading the replies and trying to put faces with the names. As luck would have it, I'm visiting Wisconsin during the time of the reunion and will see you guys there. Please feel free to e-mail at chuckkimble@earthlink.net

Thu, 19 Jul 2007 17:35:10

Hello all, I will definitely be at this great event. My wife Sarita(Smith) will also there. I look forward to seeing all of you. Feel free to send e-mail.

Michelle (Myers) Pastorek

Thu, 19 Jul 2007 21:49:15

Thought you all would like to know that several of our teachers from King will be attending the reunion also. Expected to attend: Mrs. Jupka, Mrs. Lovell, Mrs. Wood. Possible attendance: Mr. Gallagher, Mr. Mackinson. Mr. Hajewski sends his regrets, but he wanted everyone to know that the Class of 1987 was one of his favorites to teach.

Dylan Bolin (Bolin)

Fri, 20 Jul 2007 10:35:47

I look forward to seeing you all again...
Actually, that's not true. There are three of you that I can't stand. I'll leave it up to you to determine who you are.
Hey, maybe that would be a fun little game after the slide show! Everyone write down their guesses on a post-it, and the winners get a gift certificate to Dairy Queen or something.
By the way, is there a dress code because I am COVERED with hickeys.

Geneva (Ellingstad) Koleski

Fri, 20 Jul 2007 11:45:46

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to let everyone know that the deadline for submitting pictures is next week Saturday 7/28. The slideshow is about 10 songs long. I have everyones senior picture, some candids that I've already received, and some 80's memorabilia. It's been fun putting this together, but the clock is ticking; tick-tock, tick-tock.

I'm sorry Dylan, but I have to ask. Hickeys from 1 vaccume hose or 2? :)

Fri, 20 Jul 2007 13:44:47

Just booked my ticket home.
Can't wait to see you guys.
ecopps@mac.com

I am so gonna win that DQ gift certificate...

Steve Rice

Fri, 20 Jul 2007 17:11:00

Woo hoo, this should be a lot of fun. Can we make it a gift certificate to Kopps instead?? I miss that soooo much, all we have here is DQ and marble slab, just not the same. And since I didnt post my email in my first message its, steverice99@yahoo.com

Anne Fleury

Sun, 22 Jul 2007 19:33:57

So, how many guesses do we have for the DQ certificate? Can you please make sure it hasn't expired before I win it? Clare and Meg-I'm so glad you both got married - does Megan's mom still think you guys are lovers? Jenny S and Jenny G can't wait to see you guys. Anyone still trying to smoke catnip? It doesn't work too well, but it is a cheap alternative...
For those of you who have no clue who I am I will be wearing a red carnation.

Now Anne, that was only because she found us lying across the bed listening to sad music. Besides, we gave that up long ago...

Now about this DQ gift certificate. I'm more of a Michael's fan (the frozen custard shop in Madison). Throw in a cone from them, and I'll be one of the dreaded three.

Mon, 23 Jul 2007 18:50:11

Well okay. Let's take the three nameless people and the certificate winner and go to the top-GOLDMANN"s. Who can beat food that's been around for 110 years? How about a foot of rings from yesterday's frier? ...and you can help yourself to a new babushka or a pair of 76' pants. Let's go!!

Emily Copps

Mon, 23 Jul 2007 20:04:34

Sweet.
I sure hope I'm on that list.

Heather (Felton) Powell

Mon, 23 Jul 2007 20:59:27

I just read that Goldmann's is closing (or perhaps has--it takes a while for Milwaukee news to reach the Twin Cities). Sad. I need those 76" pants after all the trips to their candy counter. Yummy!

Laura (Drezek) Egelseer

Tue, 24 Jul 2007 07:36:11

Oh, excuse me, I thought I was in the Rufus King class of '87 blog, this must be the South Division class of '51 reunion blog!!
heh heh heh
You guys are hilarious!
There is something about that store, isn't there? Or wasn't there, since yes, Heather, I believe it did close or is soon to be closed.
I will never forget when I was about 7 yrs old, my parents took me and my brother to Goldman's, and my 10 yr old brother held up the most enormous pair of women's underwear and we laughed hysterically, and then got in trouble from my mom. We had never seen women big enough to fit into that size, how would we know!? I always loved that second floor for some reason, and just had to go up those stairs each visit.

How funny....

Steve Rice

Tue, 24 Jul 2007 08:00:39

Goldmanns is closing on September 30th. Kinda sucks too, I remember going there for cheap suits and other goodies. I wonder what they are going to do with the building?

Heather (Felton) Powell

Tue, 24 Jul 2007 10:53:16

Sounds like we should organize a field trip! I personally believe that Goldmanns should donate the granny panties and big pants to the Historical Society to be preserved for future generations of Milwaukee children ;)

Anne Fleury

Tue, 24 Jul 2007 17:22:24

Okay Goldmann's shoppers-here's the scoop.
it will close in the fall and all displays will go on sale including the rotating pie rack. If any clothes or "intimate apparel" is still up for sale during the last week it is FREE to anyone who will fit in it. I kid you not. Housedresses in size 6x, bras in 84 Ns, suspenders for your uncle...

Heather (Felton) Powell

Tue, 24 Jul 2007 22:42:53

Finally, a bra that fits!

On a more serious note, we're winding up a couple hundred bucks short of covering the costs for the reunion. We'll need everyone's help in one of a few ways.

1) If you've registered but haven't paid, we need your payment through PayPal by Friday, July 27 in order to guarantee there's enough food, soda and beer for everyone. Just click on the "Pay Only" tab at the top of the page.

2) If you know alums who are thinking about coming, but who haven't registered...knock some sense into them! Get them to register and pay by Friday night and I'll have a slightly used toaster oven for whomever refers the most procrastinators.

3) If you are an alum who hasn't registered and paid yet...now would be a really good time to do so. Click on the "Register" tab at the top of the page.

4) If the above doesn't happen, we will have to either short the food order or pass the hat at the reunion. Yes, both of those alternatives suck.

Right now, we have 39 alums who are set to go and 11 who have registered but not paid. If we could get just 10 more alums to register and pay we'll be in the clear!

The gauntlet has been thrown. You know what you need to do!

Emily Copps

Wed, 25 Jul 2007 06:09:41

I can't understand why Goldmann's has to close. Either they keep losing merchandising talent to Nordstrom's or they finally succumbed to competition from the internet.
Darn shame.

Heather, feel free to skimp on food for me. I'll likely be too nervous to eat, or else I will have vainly squeezed myself into some article of clothing resembling my high school size that won't allow me to ingest a bite.

Carrie (Spencer) Ghose

Wed, 25 Jul 2007 18:13:45

I stayed up way too late the other night showing my husband the yearbook and looking at some hilarious hair.

Funny thing is, after almost 20 years of mid-back length hair, I've chopped back to my senior year bob. So to you all I'll look the same, especially with this miraculous agelessness, of course. If anyone remembers me.

Michelle N! -- I lost your e-mail a while back when we moved from Michigan. I can't wait to see you! I'm not leaving e-mail here for spam reasons. (Password protection, folks?)

Dylan, ya gotta stop hanging out with that theater crowd.

See y'all soon.

Rick Kreuzer

Wed, 25 Jul 2007 23:44:59

Amazing how time just zips by.

I will not be able to attend. I was just in WI at the cabin for a couple of weeks and am pretty booked throughout the rest of the year. Reading all of the names here has really brought back a bunch of memories.
I am looking forward to hearing all of the wonderful stories and seeing the pics!

rickkreuzer@msn.com

Thu, 26 Jul 2007 07:24:32

Carrie: What makes you think I'm hanging with the theater crowd? The hickeys? No actor in his right mind would allow himself to be "marked" like that. If you must know, I haven't hung with the theater crowd since that ill-conceived production of "The Diary of Anne Frank: On Ice!" By the way, have you ever tried to skate in Jack Boots?
I am, in fact, an artificial inseminator at the Milwaukee County Zoo, and if all goes well, I'll move up to being and artificial inseminator at the Milwaukee Symphony.
But if there's one thing that an artificial inseminator knows, it's not to count their chickens until they hatch...or their third-chair woodwinds.

Based on the last several posts, I'd have to say you're all crazy! But that's good, because it means the reunion will be crazy fun. Let's not get too out of hand, though, as Mr. Ptak will be attending our reunion! Dr. Stark and Mrs. Johnston are hoping to stop by, too. I'm happy to also note that we've had several new registrations. Stay tuned for the latest attendee listing. FYI to Dylan - you're lucky Mr. Nolan is not planning to attend .. anyone remember hickey check days??

I wish I could be at the reunion. I would love to see some old friends. Am I the only one with a Pearls and Lace wine glass from prom in my cupboard? It's been great fun watching new names appear on the list. (Hi Dylan Mann). Many of you know that Peter Bailie and I got married shortly after high school. We had a beautiful daughter named Maya. Peter died 6 years ago. As much as I would love to attend, I don't think I could walk through the door without him. I'm enjoying my life in Alaska. I am remarried to a great guy. I would love to send a picture of Clare Diggleman as one of my bridesmaids:) I hope you have a blast and I can't wait to hear the stories and see pics.

I have goosebumps after reading your note, Lisa.
My heart aches for you. I fondly remember you & Peter at the 10th - he was the first guy I met who took his wife's name!
My husband had a great time checking out your Jeep that night. No surprise that Peter loved his toys.
You two will be missed.

I've put off signing in long enough, as I hate to admit that I can't join in on the Goldmann's fun! However, just couldn't resist any longer...

Lisa, I am so sorry to here about Peter's passing. We will miss you at the reunion.

And that goes for everyone else not able to attend. I know that the "committee" has had fun seeing old names pop up in trying to contact everyone, and even getting to talk to some people we haven't see in ages. We're getting very excited to see everyone!

I'm having fun reading these entries. Keep 'em coming, and we'll see everyone next Saturday!

It's been such a long time since I've seen most of the people on the list, I'm looking forward to catching up.

Lisa - Hi to you as well, I'm sorry you won't be there, but hopefully we can catch up another time. I was sorry to hear about Peter, I've got a few memories of him that still make me laugh, just not suitable for this blog.

See you Saturday.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday... I've had a great time looking through my yearbook-it's definitely reminding me of things that had been forgotten long ago (I guess my brain gets full quite easily).

Lisa-I'm so sorry to hear about Peter-I will always remember him fondly. You'll be missed on Saturday.

To everyone else, see you there!

Ronnie Z. I have to admit every time I read your name I think about you putting your hand through the glass while running stairs at wrestling practice. You have to make it in 2012.

Only a couple of days left before the BIG event!! We're very anxious to see everyone on Saturday. The party room at Long Wong's is totally awesome, the food and drinks will be stellar, the music will rock, and of course seeing our friends will be way cool. The parking, however, may bite. There's a Brewers' game on Saturday, and since Wong's is near Miller Park, parking may be a challenge. To the ladies, please consider the parking situation if you're planning to wear "hoochy mama" shoes. To the guys, please be gentlemen, and drop your gal off at the door! See you all soon!!!

Well, tomorrow is the big day finally. It should be pretty fun to see how everyone has changed. I have to take lots of pictures ( borrowed a good digicam just for the occasion ) since I missed the 5, 10, and 15 need to make up for lost time. Anyhow, see everyone tomorrow and to all those that cant/couldnt make it, remember... July 22, 2012.

Hey guys, just a heads up. There is a game at the stadium at 6:05 on Sat. Do we have reserved parking at the bar? Please let me know. I'm guessing we might have trouble finding space....

There is no reserved parking. Consider it Rufus King's alumni wellness plan ;)

Darian:

I remember the day in wrestling practice very well-it wasn't very fun for me (it was quite painful).

Hi all,
Im sitting here going though all the pics from the 20th, and I am amazed at the fact that we are all grown up now.

With the obvious exception of Dylan B.

Work had me away on the 4th, even though I thought Id be there, so I missed all the fun. This blog and the shutterfly page are the next best things I suppose.

Im doing pretty well at the name-that-face game.... Some people have not aged a bit...

Ive kept track of Peter M's career over the years, as far as I know hes the most famous of us, is that right?

I am saddened to hear about Peter Bailie. Hes the coolest guy with a mohawk Ive ever known.

I had forgotten Ron's hand & window story until just now... That exact same thing happened to a guy in my dorm a year later. You didnt go to the U of Illinois, did you Ron?

Well, I'll have to try harder for the 25th.

Hope all is well with everybody

- Bart
